St. Joan of Arc Scores Above National Average
Several performances stood out among students' overall scores.

Results from the Iowa Test of Basic Skills show that students at St. Joan of Arc School, a Catholic school located at 4913 Columbia Ave. in Lisle, perform well above the national average. SJOA's approach is not to "teach to the tests" but to learn from them, according to MySuburbanLife.com.
Results were very favorable for students at SJOA in all areas: in math, six seventh graders scored in the 99th percentile, and 80% of seventh graders scored in the 80th percentile. In English & Language Arts, 65% of the seventh grade class scored at or above the 90th percentile.
“My experience at St. Joan of Arc has allowed me to apply a team approach to working with parents,” said Cece Kenney, a teacher at SJOA, in the story. “There’s a strong communication network; we have team meetings, and parents volunteer a lot. They are very invested in their children’s success.”
