Unique Perspectives from Lisle Community on Display

Lisle, IL – See the impressive, artistic expressions from participants of the Lisle Park District Senior Center and Museums at Lisle Station Park joint art program in a gallery-style exhibit.
Last Fall, local seniors had the opportunity to learn and perfect their artistic talents through the park district’s Senior Center (1925 Ohio St., Lisle) program, Senior Perspectives. Over the course of ten months, three, four-week long art experiences featuring different drawing and painting techniques taught by local artists were offered to the senior community. At the end of each session, participants had created a gallery-ready piece. These pieces are now featured in a new exhibit at The Museums at Lisle Station Park (921 School St., Lisle), titled “Senior Perspectives: Interactive Art Gallery: Unique Artworks, Personal Experiences, and Art for All,” now open in the Depot through November 2019.
The program was made possible by a donation from the DuPage Foundation’s JCS Fund, awarded to the Lisle Park District to enrich the creative landscape in DuPage County through painting and drawing. Participants learned Chalk Drawing/Pastels taught by Wendy Nadeau, Watercolor/Pencil Drawing taught by Jennifer Rizzo, and Acrylic Painting taught by Lori Coletto. The program had a total of 35 participants, with many attending more than one course.
