Several Fourth of July events in Will County may be canceled, but there are several other ways you can celebrate the holiday safely.
MANHATTAN, IL — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel their annual Fourth of July events, including many across Will County. While several events have been cancelled or postponed —and Manhattan doesn't have its own fireworks show — there are a few nearby celebrations still taking place:

Lemont

*The annual Independence Day extravaganza and fireworks show has been canceled, but the town is holding a parade.
- What: "America's Birthday Parade — Bringing the Red, White and Blue to You" will go through the community and bring the parade to you.

Mokena

* Mokena's annual Fourth of July parade has been canceled, but a fireworks show is in the works.

New Lenox
- What: New Lenox Fourth of July parade honoring essential workers
- Where: The parade will follow Cedar Road down Haven to the Commons, the village said.
- When: 11 a.m., July 4.
Frankfort
The annual July 4th celebration usually held at Main Park is canceled.
Lockport
The annual Independence Day fireworks show, normally held July 3 in Dellwood Park in Lockport, will not be held this year. The city said there could be a possible reschedule date for later this summer.
