Adoptable Animals Looking For Permanent Summer Vacation

Some have been at the Manhattan rescue for a few weeks, others have been there a few months and would love to meet their forever family.

MANHATTAN, IL — Summer is here and adoptable dogs and cats are looking for a permanent summer vacation at someone's home. According to the rescue's adoption web page, more than a dozen dogs and cats are available for adoption at Forget Me Not Animal Rescue, located at P.O Box 483 in Manhattan. Some have been at the rescue for a few weeks, others have been there a few months and would love to meet their forever family.

The rescue featured "Dori" Thursday on their Facebook page, who's a mere 32-pound "pocket pittie." Dori is about 3 years old, and is described as pretty lazy and chill inside the home, and loves to sleep.

"A more low key place will do and preferably a yard so you don’t have to go for walks work best," the rescue said, adding that Dori would prefer a home not in the city where there's too much dog traffic, as she's a tough girl on a leash (and will spot squirrels).
