Crestwood Man Killed In Crash Near Manhattan: Police
The accident involved two vehicles, and the drivers of one of the cars has died.
MANHATTAN, IL — A 37-year-old man was killed in a crash on Sept. 3 at Route 52 and South Cedar Road near Manhattan. Illinois State Police said the crash happened at 3:12 p.m. Tuesday and involved a Dodge Ram pick-up truck and a Ford Freestar.
Police said the pick-up truck was traveling northbound on Cedar, approaching the intersection of Route 52. The Ford Freestar was traveling southbound on Route 52, when the pick-up truck turned northbound on Cedar and was struck by the Ford.
The pick-up truck overturned and the driver, Sergio Hernandez-Sanchez, of Crestwood, was ejected from the vehicle. Police said he was taken to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Hernandez-Sanchez was the only person in the pick-up truck.
