District 114 Board Decides On New Start Date For School Year

District 114 Superintendent Russell Ragon also updated board members on the number of potential staff openings.

MANHATTAN, IL — During an Aug. 5 meeting, the Manhattan School District 114 Board of Education discussed updates to the district's Return to Learn plan, including a new start date for the 2020-21 school year. According to district documents, District 114 Superintendent Russell Ragon updated board members on the number of potential openings for certified teachers and instructional assistants after the board decided on the new start date of Aug. 31.

In addition, the board discussed how extracurricular activities at the junior high, and a hybrid model would be implemented modeling Lincoln Way West High School in New Lenox, with Dr. Ron Pacheco reporting that the staff was "working on" this.
