MANHATTAN, IL — After a canceled graduation event at the Chicagoland Speedway, District 114 will hold a drive-thru graduation processional at Manhattan Junior High School on May 22. The district said there is a limit of one car per graduate, and students should wear their cap and gown and cars can be decorated.
Principal Ron Pacheco told Patch the district came up with the idea after learning graduation could not be held at the Speedway.

The graduate should be seated in the front passenger seat, and the name of the graduate should be on the driver's side of the car for their name to be announced, the district said.
The district will also have a photographer to take pictures as diplomas are awarded by the
board president through the passenger side window before a balloon arch.
