District 114 Returns To The Classroom
District 114 families are being asked to commit to a chosen learning model for the rest of the first trimester.
MANHATTAN, IL — Manhattan School District 114 students and staff returned to classrooms across the district Monday for in-person learning. According to the district, families are being asked to commit to a chosen learning model for the rest of the first trimester, as there will be an opportunity for families to change their selection if needed before the start of the second trimester.
- Half-Day Hybrid: Preschool/PFA — Two days in-person, three days remote
- Half-Day In-Person: Kindergarten through 5th Grade — Wilson Creek ( 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.), Anna McDonald (8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
- Full-Day Hybrid (alternating days of in-person learning and remote learning): 6th through 8th grade; ACCESS Program — half days
- Full-Time Remote: Option for all students — Pre-recorded and live teacher support; schedules vary by grade level

District 114 officials said it will implement several safety measures per the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH):

- Require use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including mandatory face coverings.
- Prohibit more than 50 individuals from gathering in one space.
- Require social distancing be observed, as much as possible — 5-6 ft in classrooms.
- Require that schools conduct symptom screenings and temperature checks or require that individuals self-certify that they are free of symptoms before entering school buildings.
- Require an increase in school-wide cleaning and disinfection.
