Free Monthly Veterans Breakfast Premiering In Manhattan

Starting on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 7am to 8:30am, all Veterans are welcome to come to Roadhouse Restaurant and Pub at 525 State Street, Manhattan, IL 60442 for a free breakfast. This came about because of the amazing team at Kevin Molloy State Farm and their desire to get involved in the community. Every November the team gets together for a round table type discussion to discuss ideas for how they can be more involved in the community and different ways to give back. Their meetings last from about 6am to 11am and they cover all aspects of their business with a large focus on community involvement. Then each May they get together again to revisit their ideas and modify or add on ideas. In 2017, they came up with the idea to team up with a New Lenox restaurant to do a free Veterans Breakfast and they put that plan into action with it's launch being January of 2018! That free monthly breakfast has grown to be a huge success with about 35 to 40 Veterans eating for free every month. Now the team at Kevin Molloy State Farm has decided to team up with a Manhattan restaurant to bring a free monthly Veterans breakfast to Manhattan! At the urging of Veterans Bill Walters, Dick Smerz and Bill Harris, Molloy approached the new owner Eddie Kural of The Roadhouse Restaurant and Pub, who stuck his hand out to strike a deal before Molloy could even finish the idea and said "I love our Veterans and the sacrifices they have made, count me in!" The team at Roadhouse including floor manager Liz Mizerka, and the Molloy State Farm team are going to work very hard together to make this a huge success as a way to celebrate our Veterans, thank our Veterans and give them a warm meal to share with some old friends and hopefully some new friends too. Veterans in attendance can expect a traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and toast.
