Lane Closures Expected To Begin Soon On U.S. 52 In Manhattan
An improvement project on U.S. 52 in Manhattan could create congestion between Spencer Road and U.S. 45.

MANHATTAN, IL – Lane closures could begin on U.S. 52 in Manhattan as early as this week as the Illinois Department of Transportation begins a road improvement project. The closure will affect the area between Spencer Road and U.S. 45, according to a news release from IDOT.
The project, once completed, will result in widened shoulders along U.S. 53 and replacement of the guard rails and rubble strips. Motorists should see these improvements as early as this fall.
Until then, extra time should be allowed for trips through the affected area.
