Manhattan Chamber Collecting Donations For Labor Day Fireworks

Chamber collecting donations for Manhattan's Labor Day Fireworks display for 2019

The Labor Day Fireworks for Manhattan are in jeopardy unless the town can come together again to raise enough money to pay for them. A fireworks display has been a long-standing favorite Labor Day tradition. Over the years, the fireworks have been provided by many different organizations. The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce stepped up to provide fireworks for two years, but their budget is unable to continue the festivities alone. Please donate if you can to help keep this tradition alive!

This year’s $7,500 goal will provide the community with a great evening display that will be on Sunday, Sept. 1 to provide for family friendly viewing time. The display can be seen throughout the Village and most of the Township. Manhattan is the only area fireworks on Labor Day. The Chamber is planning ahead in order to schedule the event. The goal needs to be reached by July 1, 2019.

Donors, over $250, will receive public recognition at Manhattan’s Labor Day Parade and through the Chamber’s Facebook, website and email blasts to members. If each household would contribute, even a small amount, the goal would be met.
