Lincoln-Way Students Recognized With National Silver Key Awards

Two Lincoln-Way students have been recognized with National Silver Key Awards in the 2019 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.

MANHATTAN, IL — Two Lincoln-Way students have been recognized with National Silver Key Awards in the 2019 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. LW Central senior Mia Chidichimo and LW West senior Danielle Koska both received Silver Key awards for their works.

The school said Koska's work, "Floral Face," received the silver award in the Digital Art category. Chidichimo's piece, "An 80s Still Life," received silver in the Mixed Media category.

According to the Scholastic Art and Writing awards website,the Silver Key is a regional award given for stand-out works submitted to local programs that demonstrate exceptional ability.

"It is truly a large accomplishment to be recognized with a National Scholastic Award,”
said Phil Labriola, District Art Department Chairperson. “The level of competition is so
high that winning on the national level is a great honor for these students. We are so
proud of both Danielle and Mia."
