Lincoln-Way West Musicians Accepted For Chamber Music Festival

The four musicians have been selected to perform at the 29th annual Music for All National Chamber Music Festival in March 2020.

MANHATTAN, IL — A Lincoln-Way West Saxophone Quartet, composed of Kyleen Hall, Mikey Schelinski, Sammy Duckworth and Nathan Fields, has been selected to perform at the 29th annual Music for All National Chamber Music Festival in March 2020.

The district said the quartet had to prepare an audition tape and submit it to Music for All for
critique. In the group’s acceptance letter, Music for All CEO Eric Martin said, “Your ensemble was deemed to have achieved the level of musical performance and artistry worthy of being featured and celebrated on a national stage.”

This is the first Lincoln-Way group to be accepted to the National Chamber Music Festival.

“What an amazing accomplishment for these students,” Lincoln-Way West music department chair Justin Barnish said in a release. “These students are being recognized on a national stage amongst some of the best high school musicians in the country. The time and dedication it takes to achieve at such a high level is no small feat and everyone at West is extremely proud of them.”
