LW West Senior Named National Merit Finalist

NEW LENOX, IL — A Lincoln-Way West senior has been named a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. The school said Oliver Mate is one of 15,ooo students nationwide who is now in the running for 7,500 National Merit Scholarships.
According to the National Merit Scholarship Program, semifinalists were notified by mail in February that that they had advanced to finalist standing. High school principals are notified as well and provided with a certificate to present to each einalist.
Starting in March and ending in June, National Merit will begin to notify finalists if they have won a scholarship.
