Manhattan April 2 Election: Polling Places, Candidate Info
Election Day is April 2 and voters will be able to vote for elected local officials for school boards, village trustee, park district board
MANHATTAN, IL — Election Day is April 2 and voters will be able to vote for elected local officials for school boards, village trustee, park district boards and more. In Manhattan, voters will see two contested races on the ballot: the Lincoln-Way District 210 board of education and for village of Manhattan trustee.
The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2. You can find your Will County polling place here. In Manhattan, there are four precincts and two different polling places. You will either vote at Manhattan Village Hall, 260 Market Place, or at Manhattan Township building, 230 Wabash St.
The race for District 210 Board of Education has four open positions on the board, and six candidates are running. The candidates are: Hugh "Butch" McCorkle, Richard LaCien Jr., William Garrett, Peter Wilkes, Beth Janus-Doyle and Joseph Kirkeeng.

Another local contested race is the race for village trustee in Manhattan. There are three open positions and five candidates running: Erin McDonough, Michael Naughton, Robert Dilling, James Reeves and Howard Young.
After the polls close, you can head back to Patch as the vote totals roll in. Vote totals will also be on the Will County clerk website. Remember that all vote totals are unofficial and winners are projected until the clerk's office has tabulated all results, including provisional ballots from Election Day and vote by mail ballots postmarked by Election Day. Those votes will be posted 14 days after Election Day, and 21 calendar days after an election, the results are canvassed and become official.
