MANHATTAN, IL — Manhattan District 114 students will soon head back to school for the 2019-20 school year. District 114 has released its school calendar for the year, which is full of important dates to remember for both parents and students.

The calendar includes dates like winter and spring break, holidays, conferences and half days. Here is the list of days you should know for this school year:


August

  • Aug. 21 - First day of school

September

  • Sept. 2 - Labor Day, no school
  • Sept. 25 - Early dismissal, Manhattan Junior High at 11:30 a.m.; Anna McDonald at 12:15 p.m. and Wilson Creek at 12:30 p.m.

  • Oct. 14 - Columbus Day, no school
  • Oct. 31 - Early dismissal, Manhattan Junior High at 11:30 a.m.; Anna McDonald at 12:15 p.m. and Wilson Creek at 12:30 p.m.

November

  • Nov. 1 - Teacher Institute, no school
  • Nov. 15 - End of first trimester. Early dismissal, Manhattan Junior High at 11:30 a.m.; Anna McDonald at 12:15 p.m. and Wilson Creek at 12:30 p.m.
  • Nov. 25-26 - Parent teacher conferences, no school
  • Nov. 27, 28, 29 - Thanksgiving holiday, no school

December

  • Dec. 4 - Early dismissal, Manhattan Junior High at 11:30 a.m.; Anna McDonald at 12:15 p.m. and Wilson Creek at 12:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 20 - Early dismissal, Manhattan Junior High at 11:30 a.m.; Anna McDonald at 12:15 p.m. and Wilson Creek at 12:30 p.m. Winter break begins at end of day.

January

  • Jan. 6 - Classes resume
  • Jan. 20 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school
  • Jan. 22 - Early dismissal, Manhattan Junior High at 11:30 a.m.; Anna McDonald at 12:15 p.m. and Wilson Creek at 12:30 p.m.

February

  • Feb. 14 - Teacher Institute, no school
  • Feb. 17 - Presidents Day, no school
  • Feb. 21 - End of second trimester

March

  • March 2 - Casimir Pulaski Day, no school
  • March 27 - Early dismissal, Manhattan Junior High at 11:30 a.m.; Anna McDonald at 12:15 p.m. and Wilson Creek at 12:30 p.m. Spring break begins at end of day.

April

  • April 6 - Classes resume from spring break
  • April 9 - Early dismissal, Manhattan Junior High at 11:30 a.m.; Anna McDonald at 12:15 p.m. and Wilson Creek at 12:30 p.m.
  • April 10 - No school

May

  • May 25 - Memorial Day, no school
  • May 29 - Tentative last day of school
