Manhattan Man Brandishes Gun At Party: Cops

Multiple witnesses called police to report the incident on Saturday night.

MANHATTAN, IL — A Manhattan man has been charged after brandishing a weapon to a group of people, police said. Kevin Wood, 24, of the 16100 block of West Carlow Circle, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.

Police said officers arrived at the 100 block of Marion Street at 11:36 p.m. Saturday for a call of an armed disturbance. It was reported that a possibly intoxicated man had shown a firearm to a group of people at a party on Marion Street and then left the scene in a car. Multiple witnesses called police to report the incident.

Using the information from witnesses, police said they located Wood in the 16100 block of Carlow a short time later. A semi-automatic pistol was found.

Wood was taken into custody and booked into the Will County Adult Detention Facility. As of May 13, Wood had not been released. He was due in court on Monday.
