Manhattan Police Look For Witnesses Of Traffic Crash

One person was injured Saturday night in a traffic crash at Route 52 and Foxford Drive,; police said.

MANHATTAN, IL — One person was injured Saturday night in a traffic crash at Route 52 and Foxford Drive in Manhattan, police said. The crash, which happened at 9:43 p.m. Saturday, was between a car and semi-truck in the westbound lanes of Route 52 just south of Foxford.

Police said the driver of the car, Matthew Craven, 34, of Elwood, was taken by ambulance to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. The driver of the semi-truck, Lary Phelan, 49, of Joliet, was uninjured and was released from the scene.

The Will County Sheriff's Police Major Accident Investigation Team responded to assist Manhattan Police Department's investigation with reconstruction of the collision, police said.
