Manhattan Police Prepare For Polar Plunge

The department will be diving in Leisure Lakes in Joliet at 21900 SW Frontage Road, at 12 p.m. on March 9.

MANHATTAN, IL — The Manhattan Police Department will be braving icy waters for a good cause on March 9 in Joliet. The Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois is an annual event where groups or organizations jump into icy waters to raise money for Special Olympics.

The department said they will be diving in Leisure Lakes in Joliet at 21900 SW Frontage Road, at 12 p.m. on March 9.

You can write all checks out to “Special Olympics Illinois” or donate online at the team's website.Cash or check can be taken at the Manhattan Police Department located at 240 Market Place. All proceeds go directly to Special Olympics.
