The following is an announcement from Manhattan resident Mike Adrieansen:

"My name is Mike Adrieansen and I am excited to formally announce my candidacy for Mayor. The encouragement of family, friends and Manhattan residents coupled with my desire to continue serving this community reinforced my decision.

Our family has called Manhattan home since 2005 and I still believe that Manhattan remains the best place to live and raise a family in. We have so much to offer in Manhattan and I will strive to support our community’s high priority issues.

I have lived in Manhattan for fifteen years and have been involved with the village and different community groups.

Manhattan is a great community but we need a new approach to reach proper growth while keeping our small town feel.

Nothing has really changed over the past several years.

I am a transparent person who takes pride in my honest reputation.

I am confident that I can bring the community together to move forward.

I have never shied from a difficult situation and have always strived to provide open and honest communication. In all of my years of service I have been honest, open and approachable. Manhattan deserves proven leadership with the right priorities to ensure a better future. If elected, I will serve as your Mayor with thoughtful, open, and objective leadership.
