Police Seek To ID Possible Thief In Manhattan

The man was seen on surveillance video driving onto a property in Manhattan where something was stolen.

MANHATTAN, IL — Police are looking to identify a man who has been seen in the area near incidents of thefts, Manhattan police said. According to the Will County Sheriff's Office, the man was seen on surveillance video entering a property in the 25700 block of South Gougar Road in Manhattan on April 9.

Video shows the man exiting his car and going to the front door of the home. He then returns to his car and drives further onto the property, police said. A short time later, the car is seen leaving the property. The homeowner told police a 70 amp wheeled battery charger was stolen from his pole barn near where the car was parked.

The sheriff's office said the man is described a a white male, 6'0" or slightly taller, slim build, unshaven, white rimmed sunglasses, and was wearing a long sleeve black 'Air Jordan' shirt and dark baggie jeans.
