The restaurant announced it would be hiring several drivers for each of its 62 locations, which will account for hundreds of new jobs throughout the chain, the release said. In addition to earning a base salary, drivers will be able to collect tips on trips and will also be cross-trained to work in the restaurants where they are hired.

Drivers must be at least 18 years old, have their own vehicle and must be able to demonstrate proof of insurance.
Officials from the restaurant said that delivery has been one of the fastest-growing arms of the Portillo's business model and is currently partnered with third-party delivery companies such as DoorDash and Uber Eats. While the company indicated it will continue to use these platforms, it will include service using its drivers as well.
