The Kevin Molloy State Farm, WJOL Pigskin Preview Player of the Week award goes to Joliet West football player Trent Howland. He led the Joliet West squad to their first conference championship in fifty years with an outstanding effort during last week’s game with 23 carries for 301 yards and five touchdowns. Howland also added a sixth touchdown receiving. The junior running back is the first West player to garner the award.
Howland received the Week Nine Player of the Week award from football recruiting guru Edgy Tim, Hall of Fame Coach Joe Rodeghero and Kevin Molloy on Oct. 30, when the trio visited Howland and the Joliet West football team.
Coach Lech, the Joliet West coach, will join Howland and his parents at the awards banquet sponsored by Frank Gatto, the owner of Gatto’s of New Lenox on December 8, 2019, at 1:00 PM where nine outstanding players and their coaches will be highlighted. Trophies will be provided by Bill Garrigan of Fully Promoted in New Lenox.
