Two famous athletes plan fundraiser for local family
An Olympic Gold Medalist and Super Bowl Champion come together to help a 19 year old who is in a coma after a snowmobiling accident

When Olympic Gold Medalist, Kendall Coyne and Super Bowl Champion Michael Schofield heard about a horrible snowmobile accident that affected a boy close to their hometown, it wasn’t a question of if they should help, it was figuring out just how they could help. Kendall told the Patch, “Michael and I were saying to each other, there has to be something more that we can do besides only making a donation on the Go Fund Me page.” That is when they came up with the idea to do a signing at The Plush Horse. The venue has special meaning to the couple.
On January 14, 2017 Kendall and Michael , both from Orland Park, IL, got engaged at the popular Ice Cream Parlor The Plush Horse in Palos Park. The Plush Horse was chosen as the place for their special proposal because Kendall and Michael had both been going there all of their lives and they both really enjoy the ice cream.
One of Kendall’s first stops when she got home from winning her Gold Medal in South Korea was The Plush Horse. She stopped there with her parents and talked to someone to get the ball rolling and there is now a fundraiser set for March 23rd for this local family organized by these two very famous local athletes.
