Week 4 Player of The Week is Anthony Sambucci, a senior wide receiver from Lemont High School for his effort in the Indians 40-0 win over Oak Forest High School. During the game he had eight catches for 176 yards and three touchdowns. His performance on Friday was par for the course this season as he has been outstanding through the first four weeks. Sambucci has verbally committed to continue playing football at Western Michigan in the fall.
The Pigskin Preview team of Molloy, Coach Joe Rodeghero, and Edgy Tim presented the award to Sambucci and Lemont High School football Coach Bret Kooi on Wednesday night after the team completed practice.
Sambucci will be joined by his parents and Coach Bret Kooi at the Player of the Week Banquet to be held on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at Gatto’s in New Lenox sponsored by Frank Gatto. At that banquet, the weekly winners, coaches, and their families will be recognized. Attending the banquet, along with Molloy, will be Hall of Fame Coach Joe Rodeghero, football recruiting guru Edgy Tim and Bill Garrigan, owner of Fully Promoted.
