Worker Dies After Falling In Grain Bin Near Manteno
Chester Cleveland, who was a 40-year employee at Whitaker Grain, was cleaning out the bin near Manteno when he fell in.
KANKAKEE COUNTY, IL — A 58-year-old man has died after he fell into a grain bin Wednesday near Manteno. ABC7 reported Chester Cleveland, who was a 40-year employee at Whitaker Grain, was cleaning out the bin when he fell in.
Manteno Community Fire District said they received a call at 11:15 a.m. about a person who fell off a ladder into a grain bin. When the district arrived, they found there were two employees in the bin.
The second person had tried to help Cleveland, when they also fell in, the district said. The person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The fire district said Cleveland was removed from the bin at 6 p.m.
