Armed Carjacking Reported At Mokena Gas Station: Cops

MOKENA, IL — A car was stolen early Monday after an armed carjacking at a gas station in Mokena, Mokena Police Chief Steve Vaccaro told Patch. The incident took place at 5 a.m. at the Gas N' Wash, 8810 W. 191st St.

Vaccaro said the victim went inside the station, and when he came back out, he was confronted by a man reportedly armed with a handgun, who demanded the victim's keys, wallet and phone.

The victim complied, and the man stole the car and fled, Vaccaro said. No one was injured in the incident.

The offender was described as a black man in his late 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a heavy build and wearing a black sweatshirt. The stolen car is a blue Honda Pilot, and it has not been recovered.

Another vehicle possibly connected to the incident is a black Chevy Impala with Virginia plates.
