College Credits: Students Named To Athletic Teams, Dean's List
Area students are doing amazing things at colleges and universities across the United States.

Students from area towns like New Lenox, Lemont, Homer Glen and Mokena recently made Dean's List, earned scholarships and were named to athletic teams.

Cedarville University recently released the fall 2020 Dean's List, and named Sarah Maue of Homer Glen and Silas Rea of Homer Glen to the list. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Fall 2020 Dean's List At Cedarvillage University
Anna Dubois of New Lenox, was named to the Cedarville University Dean's List for fall 2020. This recognition required Dubois to maintain a 3.5 minimum GPA while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours during the fall semester.
Lorenzo Caputo makes Dean's List for Fall 2020
Lorenzo Caputo of Mokena was named to Kennesaw State University's Dean's List for the Fall 2020 semester. Students named to the Dean's List were enrolled in at least 9 credit hours of courses and earned a grade point average of at least a 3.5.
Madison Mikalauski earns scholarship from UW-Whitewater
Madison Mikalauski from New Lenox, a student who is studying special education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, is among the scholarship recipients receiving financial awards for the 2020-21 academic year.
Mikalauski won the Dean Katy Heyning and Lolita Kachel Education scholarship.
"Our scholarship winners represent the very best in academic, co-curricular and service excellence across all of our colleges and departments," said Greg Rutzen, president of the UW-Whitewater Foundation. "We're grateful to the many people and organizations - past and present - who have generously donated funds to make these awards a reality. Some of these scholarships were endowed more than 80 years ago, leaving a lasting legacy that has contributed to the success of generations of Warhawks."
Mokena's Baumgartner Earns Spot on 2021 UW-Whitewater Women's Basketball Roster
Abi Baumgartner, of Mokena, will compete for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team during the 2021 season. Baumgartner, a sophomore at UW-Whitewater, is majoring in psychology.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team, the defending Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion, begins its eight-game regular season this Wednesday at UW-Stevens Point.
The Warhawks, who are set to embark on their shortest regular season slate in 50 years, claimed the regular season league title for the second time in three years in 2019-20.
The Warhawks' schedule includes games played on Wednesday and Friday nights in February against consecutive WIAC opponents - UW-Stevens Point (Feb. 3/5), UW-Oshkosh (Feb. 10/12), UW-Platteville (Feb. 17/19) and UW-Stout (Feb. 24/26).
Lemont's Nash Earns Spot on 2020-21 UW-Whitewater Wrestling Roster
Drew Nash, of Lemont, will compete for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team during the 2021 season, which begins this week. Nash, a freshman at UW-Whitewater, is majoring in general business.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team begins an abbreviated 2021 season this Friday with a dual against UW-Stevens Point at the Williams Center. The Warhawks' slate includes duals against each Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference school, including a trip to UW-Eau Claire on Feb. 9, a double-dual at home against UW-La Crosse and UW-Platteville on Feb. 12 and a home dual against UW-Oshkosh on Feb. 19.
