Drug Take-Back Day Planned At Mokena Police Department

Those looking to dispose expired or unused prescription medication can do so at the event on April 24.

MOKENA, IL — If you're looking for a way to safely dispose of your unused or expired prescription medications, you can do so at the Mokena Police Department's Drug Enforcement Administration National Take-Back Day on April 24.

The take-back day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24 at the police department, 10907 Front St.

According to the village website, all pills, capsules and tablets should be removed from their containers and placed into plastic baggies. Blister-packed medications in packs or boxes will be accepted.

Liquids, needles or syringes will not be accepted at the event.
