Electronics, Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Planned In Mokena

MOKENA, IL — A residential electronics and hazardous waste drop-off event will be held March 27 in Mokena. The event will be by appointment only and will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Hickory Creek Metra parking lot.

According to the county's Land Use Department website, participants will be able to drop off nearly all types of electronics and household chemicals, hazardous materials and liquids. There is a limit of two TVs per vehicle and 15 gallons of paint.

ID is required for the event, and the drop-off is only for Will County residents.

Some examples of accepted items include: TVs, computers, laptops, tablets, printers, copiers, all types of paints/stains, old medication, paint thinners, drain cleaners, cleaning products, used oil, old gasoline, pool chemicals and more.
