Halloween Hollow This Weekend: What To Know If You Go

MOKENA, IL - A fall tradition in Mokena returns for its 37th year this weekend. Halloween Hollow will run over a three-day span from Friday, Oct. 12 until Sunday, Oct. 14 at Mokena Main Park. Admission to this yearly Mokena Community Park District event is free, although parking will be $5 per vehicle. Here's a look at how to plan for the weekend fun.

When?

Halloween Hollow will run from 4-8 p.m. Friday, noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

Where?

Mokena Main Park is located at 10925 W. La Porte Road in Mokena.

New This Year

There will be a beer tent and entertainment from 4-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday for those 21 and older. A Halloween-themed fireworks show will begin Saturday at 8 p.m.

What Else Is Planned?

Here's a description of the various events planned via the Mokena Community Park District:

WINDY CITY CARNIVAL: Daredevils of all ages will enjoy the Windy City Carnival with plenty of rides providing chills and thrills for everyone. Unlimited Carnival Rides Wristbands specials are available for only $25 per person, per session. Wristband sessions are Friday, 4–8 p.m., Saturday, noon–4 p.m. and 4–8 p.m. and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

CONTESTS FOR ALL AGES: Several contests will be offered for all ages including the Pumpkin Painting Contest, Mummy Wrap Contest, Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest, Costume Contest, and Mutt Strut. Call or visit our website for more information about the schedule of contests and activities.

MONSTER MARKET: There’s something for everyone in the Monster Market. Vendors will be selling plants, home décor, jewelry, glow in the dark items and more! You’ll enjoy shopping and browsing their boo-tiful wares.

SCARECROW LABORATORY AND MORE: Other activities include the famous Scarecrow Laboratory, Free Kid’s Straw Maze, horse rides, face painting, Free Ghost Town Games, and the Free Home Depot Pumpkin Painting (Sat., only).
