One In Custody After Fight, Security Pulls Gun In Mokena: Cops

MOKENA, IL — One person is in custody after a fight led to a security guard pulling their gun at Urban Air, 19800 La Grange Road, in Mokena, Interim Chief Tim McCarthy told Patch.

The security guard had approached a guest at the business to turn down their music, and the guest refused, McCarthy said. A physical fight began, and the security guard pulled their weapon when the guest reached inside a bag, according to police.

The guest did not have a weapon, McCarthy said.

A panic ensued once the security guard pulled out their weapon, but no shots were ever fired, McCarthy said. Numerous 911 calls came in reporting shots fired, so several area police agencies responded to the scene, police said.

Charges are pending against one person, who is in custody, McCarthy said.
