Krolicki Caps SXU Career With 2nd NAIA Player Of The Year Award

Lincoln-Way East alum Kara Krolicki ends her basketball career at Saint Xavier University as the program's all-time leading scorer.

CHICAGO, IL - The women's basketball program at Saint Xavier University has been a winning program ever since it began under legendary Chicago basketball coach Bob Hallberg in 2000. But their level of dominance has been taken to another level over the last four years, which saw the team compile a combined record of 127 wins and 14 losses.

And the cornerstone of the team the past four years has been Kara Krolicki, a Mokena native and recent Lincoln-Way East alum. Krolicki capped off a remarkable four-year run at SXU last week when the team lost in a national semifinal game and has since been named the NAIA Division II Player of the Year for the second year in a row.

During her senior season, Krolicki became the school's all-time leading scorer with a final career total of 2,750, finishing second in the NAIA with 700 points this year. In addition to her NAIA Player of the Year honors, Krolicki was also named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year for the second year in a row and was named to the All-CCAC team.

Krolicki becomes the second player in NAIA Division II, and just the fourth in NAIA women's basketball history in any division to earn Player of the Year honors in back-to-back seasons.

Her first three years at SXU were also filled with accomplishments, her player profile on the SXU Athletics website shows. She finished her time at Saint Xavier as the all-time leader in blocked shots, with 338, and is second on the program's rebounding list, with 1,155.
