Limestone Screening Work Begins On 2-Mile Section Of Wauponsee Glacial Trail
Trail users are urged to use caution around the area.
The Forest Preserve District is starting the process of laying down new limestone screenings along a section of the Wauponsee Glacial Trail, and trail users are urged to use caution around the area.
The work affects approximately 2 miles of trail, starting at North Arsenal Road and traveling north to approximately the 12-mile marker on the path. A base layer of gravel was raked and rolled last fall along a 5-mile stretch of the trail, but crews were unable to finish the top layer of limestone screenings along this 2-mile segment before winter.

Once in place, the new limestone screenings will be graded and rolled. The work will begin Monday, April 12, and the project is expected to take two weeks to complete. However, weather and other factors may impact this schedule. Updates will be posted here as necessary.
