MIS Recognizes Students at Year-End Virtual Ceremony
Awards celebrated students for their FastBridge test scores, growth, being a leader, good citizenship

The last week of school, Mokena Intermediate School Principal Mr. McAtee recorded a virtual ceremony celebrating the accomplishments and achievements of many 4th and 5th grade students.
Nominated by PE teachers Mr. Boss and Mrs. Neiheisel, the Sportsmanship Award went to two students that always did the right thing for their teammates and their opponents. This year’s award recipients were Brooklyn Carlson and Brody Sorenson.
The Citizenship Awards are given to students who always do the right thing for their classroom and the school building. The 4th grade winners are Kendall Cundiff, Breena Guidera, Logan Kelly, Daniel Moses, George Opiola, Anna Richelson, Aubrey Seliga, Andrew Feith, Alexis Katzmann, Reese Kozolowski, Max O’Connor, Andrew Radzlwon, Carter Riedl, and Hailey Stimatz. The winners for 5th grade were Will Bettenhausen, Kellen Breen, Lawrence Firlit, Gabriella Jackson, Noah Madden, Angelina Swaiss, Addison Williams, Filip Blagojevic, Luca Bullion, Charlie Grabowski, Annabella Lintner, Michael McInerney, Aiden Taylor, and Kara Zaker.

The students that received the top 5 scores for FastBridge testing were also honored. The top 4th grade scorers for aMath were Aiden Egan, Chase Koehler, Ezekiel Minh, Daniel Moses, and Grant Trabado and the top scorers for aReading were Clayton Carmody, Delilah Clancy, Roy Manor, Daniel Moses, and Anna Richelson. The top 5th grade scorers for aMath were Alex Fang, Daniel Kelliher, Connor Maves, Nathan Rubino, and Joseph Sokolowski and the top scorers for aReading were Molly Doyle, Connor Maves, Zora Knezovich, Joseph Sokolowski, and Abigail Wallace.
The students that had the most growth throughout their FastBridge testing were chosen for a Growth Award. The 4th grade students to receive this award were Henry Ambrose, Mason Anaya, Cooper Calt, Gianna Cazares, Aiden Egan, Chase Koehler, Alexander Lynn, Andrew Redzlwon, Grant Trabado, Jacob Woodburn (aMath), and Anthony Aldworth, Zain Alkhatib, Franco Chippetti, Austin Garcia, Kyle Jasper, Ryan Mowinski, Alyssa Rolnicki, Grant Trabado, Patricia Wrobel, and Gianna Young (aReadin). The 5th grade students chosen for the Growth Award were Own Baranak, Luca Bullion, Brooklyn Carlson, Kiley Craig, Charlie Grabowski, Reece Roberts, Zachary Toy, Colin Slaney, Joesph Sokolowski, and Brody Sorenson (aMath), and Own Baranak, Carter Cullen, Dominic Diforti, Cayden Fauber, Lily Gercken, Joesph Henschel, Ethan Mavrakis, Emma Mowinski, Aleksander Spasojevic, and Andrew Weigal (aReading). These students grew more than 90% of the students nationwide between the fall and spring FastBridge testing. In either aMath or aReading.

4th graders that maintained straight As throughout the school year were Anthony Bencic, Charolette Bon, Clayton Carmody, Quinn Freyer, Tessa Garcia, Brenna Guidera, Brian Helm, Alexis Katzmann, Keegan Macdonald, Ezekiel Minh, Daniel Moses, Ainsley O’Connor, Austin Palacios, Anna Richelson, Carter Riedel, Sylvia Shikatis, Grant Trabado, and Patricia Wrobel.
5th graders that maintained straight As throughout the school year were Ethan Anderson, Luca Bullion, Evi Coines, Charlie Grabowski, Mia Omios, Stella Sleight, Brody Sorenson, and Cecilia Welch.
The President’s Award was given to students that maintained straight As for both 4th and 5th grade. This award was given to Filip Blagojevic, Gabriel Bademosi, Grace Chandler, Jax Cypser, Mya Donnelly, Evianna Fazio, Daniel Kelliher, Zora Knezovich, Josephine Langton, Noah Madden, Connor Maves, Emma Novak, Britney Nguyen, Jonah Sloane, Carly Tully, Faith Utterback, Ella Vinezeano, Abigail Wallace, and Kara Zaker.
The Illinois Principal Association Award (IPA) recognizes students from students in the highest grade level at every school in Will County their leadership, ability to be respectful to peers and staff, level of responsibility, being a good friend and classmate, and their willingness to go above and beyond for their classmates as well as themselves. The 5th graders IPA Award recipients were Ethan Anderson, Filip Blagojevic, Kellen Breen, Brooklyn Carlson, Autumn Chlebek, Jax Cypser, Lawrence Firlit, Charlie Grabowski, Kelsey Hernandez, Landen Holba, Isabella Jordan, Sofia Lash, Wesley Wilkens, and Kara Zaker.
