Missing Tinley Park Woman Found Dead In Mokena: Police

Mokena Police said the initial investigation showed no obvious injuries or signs of foul play.

MOKENA, IL — A missing woman from Tinley Park was found dead in Mokena on Friday. Mokena Police said the initial investigation showed no obvious injuries or signs of foul play.

According to a news release from police, the 59-year-old woman was reported missing out of Tinley Park on Friday. The woman was last seen at 8 p.m. on Thursday when she left a family Thanksgiving dinner in unincorporated New Lenox.

Police said her phone was last traced in the area of Plattner and Wolf Road in Mokena. The Mokena Police department assisted Tinley Park police, as well as a drone with the Orland Park Police Department and units from the Will County Sheriff's Office. The search was called off at 10:30 p.m. Friday without finding the missing woman or her car.

At 11:30 p.m. Friday, police said her car was found in The Oaks subdivision in Mokena. The woman was found dead on the floor of the front seat of her vehicle.

The investigation continues, pending the outcome of an autopsy from the Will County Coroner's Office.
