Mokena Appoints New Community, Economic Development Director

Matt Ziska will take over the role after long-time director Alan Zordan retires later this year.

MOKENA, IL — The Mokena Village Board has appointed Matt Ziska as the new community and economic development director. Ziska will take over the role Sept. 14, after the retirement of Alan Zordan.

Ziska started with the village in 2008 in a planning position, advancing to his current position of building and planning director in 2018, village administrator John Tomasoski said.

Ziska has a bachelor's degree in Urban Arts and Regional Planning, and a Master's degree in Public Administration.

"Based on his training, his education, and performance at the village, I believe that Mr. Ziska has proven himself to be a valuable and committed member of the staff," Tomasoski said at Monday's board meeting.

The salary of the position is $124,451 annually.
