“We created the temporary outdoor dining program about a year ago,” Zordan said. “The Village Board passed a resolution allowing for restaurants to have outdoor dining. We have issued a lot of temporary outdoor dining permits – 29 were issued last year. Those permits are still good for this year, as long as there are no changes in the program.”

Zordan also said the Village is encouraging restaurants that did not take advantage of the program in 2020 to consider doing so this year.

“Anyone who didn’t get a permit last year is encouraged to get one this year if they so desire,” he said. “We have the guidelines for outdoor dining, as well as the application … available on our Village webpage and also on the Chamber [of Commerce] webpage.”
