Mokena Plans Spring Clean-Up Week

Clean-up days will be held April 17 and April 24 for those interested in picking up litter around Mokena.

MOKENA, IL — Starting Saturday, Mokena village staff, elected officials, residents and businesses will begin a clean-up of litter "hot spots" around town, according to the village website. Clean-up will also be held on April 24.

If you'd like to sign up to participate, you can call the village hall at 708-479-3900. Gloves and trash bags will be provided to you, and village staff will pick up all filled trash bags when you're done cleaning up.

Community service hours are also available for those interested, the village said.

The second clean-up will be held April 24, when trees will also be planted in selected locations as part of this event.

The event is sponsored by the Village of Mokena community affairs commission.
