Mokena Schools, Library Closed; Garbage Delayed Due To Weather
Several services will be closed or delayed on Tuesday due to the wintry weather.
MOKENA, IL — Winter weather is impacting communities around Will County, including Mokena. In Mokena, several services, schools and other organizations have been impacted, and will be closed or have delayed openings.
District 159 Schools Closed Tuesday
No in-person or remote instruction will take place Tuesday.

Lincoln-Way District 210 Will Have Remote Learning Day
Lincoln-Way District 210 students will have a remote learning day on Tuesday due to wintry weather.

Schedule "B" students who were scheduled for in-person attendance will stay home, but attend school remotely, the district said on its Facebook page. Schedule "A" students will engage in regularly scheduled asynchronous learning activity.
Mokena Park District Preschool Closed
The park district said on its Facebook that its preschool will be closed on Tuesday.
Mokena Library Closed Tuesday
Due to inclement weather, the library said it will be closed on Tuesday.
Garbage Delayed For Mokena Residents
According to a notification from the Village of Mokena, refuse and recycling will be delayed one day this week. Set your refuse and recycling containers curbside Wednesday morning.
A winter storm warning remains in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday for Will County, according to the National Weather Service. Snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches is possible, and the worst conditions are expected now through Tuesday morning.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency, the weather service advised.
