Mokena Softball Teams Find Summer Success

MOKENA, IL - Three Mokena summer softball teams, part of the Mokena Softball Association, put together impressive seasons. The following information was submitted to Patch:

In 2018, the Southsuburban Softball Conference (SSC) includes Frankfort, Mokena, Tinley Park Bobcats and Bulldogs, Frankfort Square, Orland Youth Association, Homer, and Lockport.

Each age division has a different amount of teams and they compete with the surrounding communities.

The 10U Juniors went 18-2.

• Mokena 10u -Mustang division has 19 teams
• Mokena Bulldogs 10u has 11 girls on their team.
• Their IN-HOUSE record was (GP 20 won 18 lost 2). Came in 2nd place during in-house.
• The 10u Mustang in house division was divided into two groups “East and West” because of the large number of teams.
• During the playoffs the Mokena Bulldogs came in 1st place for their West division winning 6-2 against the Mokena Sun Devils (undefeated in-house 1st place team).
• They continued on to play the East division champs (Frankfort Wildcats) and won that game 15-7 to be the ultimate SSC 10u champions

The 12U Minors went 16-1.

• Mokena -12u Bronco division has 15 teams.
• Mokena 12u Razorback has 11 girls on the team
• Mokena 12u Razorback in-house record was (GP 17 won 16 lost 2)
• The were victorious in the playoffs defeating the Frankfort Redbirds 18-15

The 15U Majors went 19-3.

• 15u-Pony division has 9 teams
• The Mokena Sun Devils have 9 girls on the team. The Sun Devils 15u played “the best of 3 games” with the Homer Fire during the playoffs.
• Game 1: Mokena Sun Devils 13/Homer Fire 10
• Game 2: Mokena Sun Devils 9/Homer Fire 12
• Game 3 : Mokena Sun Devils 16/Homer Fire 1
