Mokena Village Hall Available As Cooling Center 24/7
Mokena residents can call to have the cooling center opened at Village Hall anytime this summer.
MOKENA, IL — Mokena Village Hall, 11004 Carpenter St. will be open as a temporary cooling center during times of excessive heat and humidity this summer. The village announced the opening of the cooling center on Monday, when temperatures exceeded 90 degrees in Chicagoland.
Mokena residents who need to use the cooling center should call the police non-emergency number at 708-479-3911. When village officials are made aware of someone's need to use the cooling center, someone will open it during non-business hours.
It will be available 24/7 if needed.

In a statement, village officials are urging residents to check in on their relatives and neighbors regularly. Especially those who are elderly or in poor health.
