NAWS Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Barney

MOKENA, IL — For those looking to adopt a pet, a great place to look for your new family member is at NAWS Humane Society of Illinois. This week's adoptable pet is Barney, who is available for adoption at the humane society.

Barney is a 1-and-a-half year old male terrier, who weighs 80 pounds. The society said he was adopted from NAWS last summer, but was recently returned when his adopter experienced medical issues.

Barney is a sweet boy with a very gentle and loving personality, the society said. He seems to love everyone he meets, and his tail is always wagging. He is also eager to please, sits on command and is great in a car.

Barney does need a fitness buddy or a home with an active lifestyle, the society said. He is overweight and needs an adopter that is committed to getting him back to a healthy weight. He will need regular exercise and a strict diet.
