New Public Works Director Appointed In Mokena

James Kulesa has been appointed as the Director of Public Works for the Village of Mokena.

MOKENA, IL — James Kulesa has been appointed as the new Director of Public Works for the Village of Mokena. At Monday's meeting, the village board unanimously approved Kulesa's appointment.

The previous public works director, Lou Tiberi, retired in May 2020. Village Administrator John Tomasoski said the position was first advertised in 2020, but the village was unsuccessful in finding a suitable candidate.

Mark Detloff had been serving as interim public works director until April, when he retired.
