Orland Park Man Dies After Frankfort Township Crash

FRANKFORT TOWNSHIP, IL — A 45-year-old Orland Park man died early Tuesday following a single-car accident in Frankfort Township. Michael B. Anderson, 45, of Orland Park, was pronounced dead at 12:02 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, according to the Will County coroner's office.

The Mokena Fire Protection Distrct received a call just before 10:45 p.m. Monday, July 9, about an accident near LaPorte Road and 114th Avenue, Chief Howard Stephens said. Anderson — the driver and only person in the car — had hit a tree at the intersection, and emergency workers needed to exticate him from the vehicle, Stephens said.

Paramedics took Anderson to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Stephens said it wasn't clear why Anderson lost control of his car and hit the tree.
