Silver Cross Development Discussed At Mokena Public Hearing

The first phase of the development would include a 20,000-square-foot medical office building.

MOKENA, IL — At its Monday meeting, the Mokena Village board held a public hearing for a development agreement with Silver Cross Hospital.

The Board reviewed the draft terms of a development agreement between the Village, Lincoln Owens Development and Silver Cross Hospital, board documents state. The agreement is for site improvement plans for an 8.6-acre site at the southeast corner of US Route 30 and Owens Road.

Building and Planning Director Matt Ziska said during the public hearing that the proposed development is a two-phased development.

Lot 1, which is 3 acres of the property, would include a 20,000-square-foot medical office building, and would be developed during the first phase.

All stormwater detention and roadway improvements would be in phase 1 of the plan, according to the draft development agreement. Future improvement plans for lot 2 will also require review and approval from the board.

Lot 2, which is the remaining 5.6 acres of property, would include a 40,000-square-foot medical office building addition/expansion. The timeline for phase 2 has yet to be determined and will depend on future demand, Ziska said.

The development agreement will be up for final approval at the board's next meeting on March 8.
