Silver Cross Medical Office Plans Approved In Mokena

Phase 1 of the project will begin later this spring, and be completed in the fall.

MOKENA, IL — The site plan for a medical office building for Silver Cross Hospital was approved at the Monday Mokena Village Board meeting. The board also approved the preliminary plat of subdivision and the development agreement for the property, which is between the Village, Lincoln Owens Development and Silver Cross Hospital.

The property is located at the southeast corner of US Route 30 and Owens Road.

Building and Planning Director Matt Ziska said the property will be subdivided into two lots, one 3-acre lot and one 5.6-acre lot. The plans include a 20,000-square-foot medical office building on lot 1, which would be phase 1 of the project, and up to a 40,000-square-foot building on lot 2 of the property, which would be phase 2 of the project.

Phase 1 of the project will begin later this spring, and be completed in the fall, Ziska said. Phase 2 of the project will depend on future demand, and there is no current timetable for that project.

Future improvement plans for lot 2 would have to go in front of the village board for review.
