St Anthony “Fighting Saints” TACKLE FOOTBALL Update
Greetings all…
We are quickly approaching the 2017 Football Season…. Believe it or not, we are entering our 4th Season of competition and still going Strong! This is stated with a message of Gratitude….none of this would have been possible if it weren’t for You All believing in this program’s mission. This mission is very simple and straightforward…. IT’S ABOUT KIDS BEING ALLOWED TO BE KIDS IN A CHRISTIAN ENVIRONMENT!!! So with this being stated – THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR COMMITMENT AND CONTINUED SUPPORT IN THIS PROGRAM!!
Latest News:
- We have decided to join the Catholic Youth Football Network (CYFN) along with 3 other teams from our division last year.
- Our main focus is to still promote and provide a solid Christian environment… I am glad to say that this will never be compromised!!
- All teams have agreed that we still want to recruit and attract kids of the Catholic Faith. With this, we have loosened up the rules a bit to allow those teams that may need to attract “non- Catholic” kids to stabilize their team’s numbers. This was agreed to upon for a variety of reasons but the two most important reasons were for Safety Promotion and to Provide the kids with a Better / More Competitive Experience. Please note: we are sticking by capping each of our three tackle teams at 25 kids per team….to promote more playing time!
- More Games to be played than in the past… 10 (with a playoff game)
- The start of practice will be Monday August 7th……We still plan on having 3 day per week practice schedule as in the past EXCEPT for August 7th thru August 11th AND August 14th thru August 18th which will be 5 days of practice each week. This will allow each family an opportunity to make their final summer vacation plans with a full week!
- And We Will Not Playing on both Labor Day Weekend and Columbus Day Weekend…. This is to promote more Family time and allow the kids a brief break in the action! This time off alone (we are confident) will come as a very Welcomed Change!!

Please notice how family friendly this schedule is all the while being able to maintain a complete and competitive schedule for Our Kids! We are very excited about what this year is bringing forward. With this, we still have openings at each level. If you have not signed up yet, PLEASE SIGN UP. If your son has a friend who would be interested in playing this season, TELL THEM TO GET SIGNED UP. WE ARE VERY SERIOUS ABOUT CAPPING EACH TEAM AT 25 BOYS! So if you son is interested, DO NOT DELAY! To sum up, PROMOTE THIS PROGRAM EVERYONE…. Get the word out! This is shaping up to be a great season and a fine time for your son (and / or your son’s friends) to be A FIGHTING SAINT!!!!
