Voting In Mokena: Everything You Need To Know

MOKENA, IL — If you haven't yet voted by mail or early in-person, there are several polling stations around Mokena on Election Day. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

You can find a list of polling stations in Mokena, as well as across Will County, on the County Clerk's website.

Although there were several mail-in voting drop boxes located around the county, those drop boxes are closed on Election Day. The only vote by mail drop box that will accept ballot envelopes on Election Day will be outside the Will County Clerk’s Office, 302 N. Chicago St., in downtown Joliet. That drop box will close at 7 p.m.

In addition to voting on president, some state and local races, voters are being asked to vote on the Graduated Income Tax Amendment.

• A "yes" vote supports repealing the state's constitutional requirement that the state personal income tax be a flat rate and instead allow the state to enact legislation for a graduated income tax.
• A "no" vote opposes this constitutional amendment, thus continuing to require that the state personal income tax be a flat rate and prohibit a graduated income tax.

• Chief Executive Officer: Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant or Nick Ficarello
• Circuit Clerk: Andrea Lynn Chasteen or Anthony Granata
• Coroner: Laurie Summers or James Piacentini
• County Auditor: Kevin "Duffy" Blackburn or James Buiter
• Recorder of Deeds: Karen Stukel or Gretchn Fritz
• State's Attorney: James Glasgow
• Will County Board Member District 12 (vote for two): Erin Moncek, Joanne Hamilton-Gunkel, Tom Weigel or Frankie Pretzel

Mokena voters will not see any local referendum questions this election.
