Watering Restrictions In Place In Mokena

Review when Mokena residents are allowed to water their lawns this summer.

MOKENA, IL - Seasonal watering restrictions are now in effect in Mokena.

Village residents are now under green zone restrictions, which means normal watering times. Those are in place on an odd/even basis.

Outdoor lawn watering is allowed for residents with odd-numbered addresses on odd-numbered days of the month and for residents with even-numbered addresses on even-numbered days of the month.

Watering is only allowed from 7-11 a.m. and from 7-11 p.m. on those days.

According to a village of Mokena memo, special exemptions to the watering restrictions are allowed for residents establishing new lawns. To be eligible for the exemptions, residents must first obtain a permit from the Village's Community Development Department.
